The Academy Summer Intensive this year provided a wonderful training program, with guest teachers Jennifer Hooper, soloist with Texas Ballet Theater and former SPAA student and Lili Griffiths, former principal at the Royal Ballet, London and teacher at SPAA. The students grew a great deal in both their approach to classwork and technical proficiency.
We extend a warm welcome home to Rachel, Rachael, and Leticia who returned home from National Summer Intensive programs with Lines Ballet, The Rock School, and American Ballet Theater. And a special congratulations to Rachael, who was offered a scholarship to attend the Rock School year-round! Way to go Rachael!
Musical Theater Summer Camp students have had a fabulous time working on and performing a themed show at the end of each week. Camps this year included Hannah Montana, High School Musical, American Girl and More!
Merit Scholarship Auditions will be held for High School Students in September. Contact Miss Miah or check out the flyer for more information.
Pas de Deux class will resume Tuesday September 2 at 7:30 pm. All intermediate to advanced male dancers, age 15 and older attending pas de deux class are more than welcome to attend technique class from 6:00-7:30 pm Free of Charge!
This 2008-09 Season marks our 20th Season in San Diego! This year's program will include our annual Youth Nutcracker, an American Girl Fashion Show, and two Spring productions TBA!
Fall Quarter Registration still underway. Be sure to get your name on the list for your preferred classes before they fill up!

- Congratulations to all Cinderella cast members, backstage parents and volunteers on a wonderful performance weekend! Thank you to those of you who attended any of the performances this past weekend. Pictures are now available at M.T. Chinyelu Photography. Check your programs for the gallery password or contact Miss Miah.
- The Academy will be closed for all dance classes June 23-July 5, 2008, excluding Musical Theater which will meet at its regularly scheduled times.
- Musical Theater Workshop Hairspray performances June 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 at our Scripps Ranch Black Box Theater. Tickets $5. Contact your respective office for specific information.
- Space still available for Advanced-Intermediate to Advanced Dancers in our Full Summer Intensive Program and Our Contemporary Jazz Focused Intensive. Contact Miss Miah for details.

The Carmel Valley Hannah Montana camp August 11-15 is FULL.
A second Hannah Montana camp will be held August 4-8 in place of Disney's Best Princesses and Pirates. Limited Spaces are Available.
Thank you to all who attended or participated in The American Girl Fashion Show held this past weekend. Isabella's Giraffe Club at UCSD Medical Center was pleased with the turnout and thank each of you for supporting such a great cause!
Cinderella Tickets are now on sale! The Ticket Order Form Available Online! Performances will be June 12 at 7 pm, June 13 at 7 pm, June 14 at 2 pm and 7 pm. This is a Scripps Performing Arts Company Premiere not to be missed!
Summer Camp Registration has begun! Be sure to register early for the summer camp of your choice before the limited spaces disappear. The registration forms are available at both offices and will be posted online soon.
The Summer Intensive Audition deadline is May 31, 2008. Be sure to schedule your audition as soon as possible as spaces are filling up fast!
Annual Student Evaluations will be passed out in class during the month of May. Please contact if you have not received one by May 26, 2008.
Private Lessons now available, with SPAA Alum, Jennifer Hooper, professional ballet dancer with the Texas Ballet Theater. Please contact Miss Miah for more information.

Auditions for Beginners and Dancers Creative Dance to Ballet IV will begin in Late February.
