SCRIPPS PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY For People who want a creative environment that instills self-confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork without sacrificing the core values of dance as an art form. The Scripps Performing Arts Academy is a place that nurtures students of all ages, provides, high-caliber dance instruction, and creates a family-friendly atmosphere using the mediums of dance, music, and performance. The Scripps Performing Arts Academy is proud to have provided students in the San Diego area with Professional instruction in the Creative and Performing Arts. We have caring, professional instructors who offer a wealth of experience, technical proficiency and a love for teaching. We offer a parent lobby, Professional raised wooden floors, covered with marley, floating above a styrofoam base, providing that extra give necessary to dance safely. The Artistic Director, Angela Amoroso, in conjunction with our well qualified faculty, has worked meticulously to shape the artistic and administrative aspects of the Academy into a pre-professional performing arts Academy, capable of launching the most talented students into a professional career if they so desire it. The Academy features a spacious home for many types of dancers and performance artists, Ages 22 months to Adult. Our diverse schedule provides pre-professional and recreational training in Ballet, the foundation of all dance, while providing a plethora of classes in varying genres of dance. We currently have classes in Jazz, Modern, Tap, Beginning Hip Hop, Adult Ballet Beginning to Intermediate, Teen to Adult Modern, Beginning to Advanced Levels, Adult Beginning Tap and Mommy and Me Classes. Our black box theatre provides an intimate performing space for our Musical Theatre Workshops and Local and Visiting Companies. Additionally, we are proud of our Imagination Station, an alternative performing arts education workshop as an alternative to traditional pre-school needs. As we embark on the first season in our new Carmel Valley location, we look forward to the opportunity to reach more people, of all ages, through the performing arts.
