At SPAC we focus on fully integrating music theory into our hands-on, experiential curriculum for kids of all ages. As an example, our Music Appreciation class recently had three-year-olds learning about whole notes by rolling out sugar cookies into flat circles, and then placing the baked cookies on a large musical staff they helped create. They learned the notes for the lines and spaces of the musical staff, then they practiced finding those notes on a large, walk-on piano and holding the notes for four beats, counting out loud and strong.
These classes are limited to ten children, and are taught by Angela Amoroso. See her bio on our Staff page.
These classes are currently waitlist only. Please call us at (858) 586-7834 for more information.
