Jackie Maraya Griffin, Vocal Instruction
Jackie Maraya Griffin is a seasoned performer having played across the globe in such shows like the German company of Miss Saigon & the National Tour of Rent. She also played the role of ‘Mei Lei’ in Flower Drum Song at PCLO in Northern California opposite Jennifer Ann Lee (A Chorus Line) and ‘Tuptim’ in The King & at DCT in Connecticut opposite Manu Narayan (Bombay Dreams) & Josie De Guzman (Guys & Dolls). Recently she was seen in the pre-broadway run of The Wiz at the La Jolla Playhouse, starring David Alan Grier (In Living Color) and directed by Tony award winning director Des MacAnuff. During her time with Rent , Jackie was appointed Dance Captain & had the honor of working with the Tony winning original creative team. Jackie was a principal performer on board luxury cruise lines (Royal Caribbean in Europe and Norwegian in Hawaii). She has headlined in concerts with famous Filipino artists like Christopher De Leon, Ray Valera, and Sunshine Cruz. More recently, she made her first appearance on TV in a featured part on the series LOST opposite Matthew Fox. Jackie performs locally with her husband in their Hawaiian Band, Pu’uwai. She has been teaching voice for over a decade and is currently the vocal coach for the show choir Tritons’s Triple Threat at the Preuss School, UCSD. She also teaches performing arts at the St. Charles Borromeo Academy. Jackie is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Chris Klich, Woodwind and Brass Instruments
Chris earned a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in music from UCSD in 1983 where he studied with jazz and blues great Jimmy Cheatham, and more recently, earned his Master's in Music from San Diego State University in May 2005. In addition to teaching private lessons, Chris has taught elementary school band and has worked with students at every age and ability level, from children to adults. Chris regularly is called to record on various projects at some of San Diego’s finest recording studios and has recorded with Candye Kane, Lisa Sanders, Laura Preble, Wise Monkey Orchestra, the Mar Dels, Bordertown, and many others. Chris also performs all over San Diego county with the Chris Klich Jazz Quintet. You can catch Chris at the Scripps Performing Arts Centre! |

Sara Spafford, Vocal and Piano Instruction
Sara Spafford is a recent graduate of San Diego State University’s School of Music and Dance. A recipient of a Bachelor of Music degree specializing in Music Education, Sara was honored at her commencement ceremonies as the School of Music’s Outstanding Graduate of 2005. The daughter of a music teacher and an entertainment producer, Sara has been singing and performing all of her life. She has appeared in numerous performances with Christian Youth Theater, Vanguard Community Theater, the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SDSCPA), and the San Diego State Opera Theater. Sara has also performed with the San Diego State Aztec Chamber Choir, Starlight Musical Theater, and the Ringer’s ReJOYce Bell Choir.
Sara is currently a student teacher at La Presa Middle School where she teaches choir. A single subject teaching credential candidate, Sara aspires to be a public school music teacher. As an active member of the California Music Educator’s Association (CMEA), the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA), and Sigma Alpha Iota National Music Fraternity (SAI), Sara is an advocate for music education.
