Jackie Maraya Griffin, Vocal Instruction
Jackie Maraya Griffin is a seasoned performer having played across the globe in such shows like the German company of Miss Saigon & the National Tour of Rent. She also played the role of ‘Mei Lei’ in Flower Drum Song at PCLO in Northern California opposite Jennifer Ann Lee (A Chorus Line) and ‘Tuptim’ in The King & at DCT in Connecticut opposite Manu Narayan (Bombay Dreams) & Josie De Guzman (Guys & Dolls). Recently she was seen in the pre-broadway run of The Wiz at the La Jolla Playhouse, starring David Alan Grier (In Living Color) and directed by Tony award winning director Des MacAnuff. During her time with Rent , Jackie was appointed Dance Captain & had the honor of working with the Tony winning original creative team. Jackie was a principal performer on board luxury cruise lines (Royal Caribbean in Europe and Norwegian in Hawaii). She has headlined in concerts with famous Filipino artists like Christopher De Leon, Ray Valera, and Sunshine Cruz. More recently, she made her first appearance on TV in a featured part on the series LOST opposite Matthew Fox. Jackie performs locally with her husband in their Hawaiian Band, Pu’uwai. She has been teaching voice for over a decade and is currently the vocal coach for the show choir Tritons’s Triple Threat at the Preuss School, UCSD. She also teaches performing arts at the St. Charles Borromeo Academy. Jackie is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
